ABOUT ME
I live in Wisconsin with my husband (a prison guard), 5 children and 2 cats. I've been a stay at home mom for over a decade, spending some time working on a degree in Education. Being busy with the kids, and not being able to keep up with both their homework and mine (hel-lo), I put my college courses on a back burner.
I've always had fun working with crafts, but candles were often where I'd focus my energy. After making candles for a hobby for quite some time, I started to notice myself taking it more seriously, focusing on the end result, and how I could improve it. Up until this time, I bought candles as if they were groceries and we needed them to survive. But then I started to really like what I churning out, and figured I should just supply my own habit. I can't even remember the last time I purchased a candle from a store.
Having a surplus of finished projects, I gave candles and soaps as gifts. Eventually, friends and family started to want me to make candles for them. I thought, "Cool, but, ah... Momma's not rich; you're gonna have to gimme a little som-som'in to cover costs..." As you can see, it snowballed into what is now the Soap & Candle Stand.
I continue to be a scent junkie, and crafter at heart, although I have less time for my scrapbooking and attempts at knitting. My focus right now is to continually improve my product, and constantly search for fragrances that make my nose sing for joy.
